Fishing Guide Titusville

Cocoa Beach Flats Fishing Boat

Cocoa Beach Inshore Fishing Boat.

The Flying Low, with Captain Jim Chambers at the helm is a super speedy Cocoa Beach flats fishing boat that offers 360 degree fishability with plenty of fishing room so your Cocoa Beach fishing trip will be as comfortable as possible.

While on your guided Florida fishing trip your charter boat ride to the spectacular Titusville or Cocoa Beach fishing will be aboard Captain Jim's new Hewes 21' Redfisher. This Cocoa Beach flats fishing boat sports a center console and is fully equipped with all the latest cutting edge charter boat technology including the best in electronic fishing and safety gear.

The boat is powered by a Yamaha VZ 250 Outboard which can get you out to the Cocoa Beach fishing grounds in greased lightning quick fashion. The boat is very smooth and stable even in rough waters and has 360 degrees of fishability and with its shallow draft can get you in some of the shallowest of the shallow water flats water where a lot of big fish hide.

For those no motor zones or in very shallow water Captain Jim uses his Minn Kota auto pilot trolling motor and a 8' Power Pole which also allows him to nice and quietly move on the flats so you can sneak right up on an unsuspecting school of trophy redfish.

When it comes to Titusville or Cocoa Beach flats fishing you sometimes need to be in the shallowest of shallow water and although Jim's flats fishing boat is 21' long it's draft only draws 11 inches of water which is extremely shallow. This means Jim can get you into a foot of water where some of the biggest fish roam. With an 11 inch draft Captain Jim's boat can go places much smaller boats can go. That means you enjoy the comfort and fishing room of a 21 foot boat but can go where the smaller boats go to get to the best and biggest of fish.

Captain Jim's Cocoa Beach fishing boat can fish up to a maximum of 3 anglers plus Captain Jim.So if your party is made up of 3 buddies or a small family you can all fish comfortably with Captain Jim at the helm.

Shimano fishing gear

Some of the gear Captain Jim uses includes:

  • Shimano fishing rods
  • Shimano fishing reels
  • Garmin electronics
  • Minn Kota auto pilot trolling motor
  • 8' Power Pole

What to Bring on a Cocoa Beach Guided Fishing Trip

These are a few items you may or may not want to bring. These are things to make you more comfortable on the water during the hot Florida summer days.

A food, drink and fish cooler

Bring a cooler for food and drinks. Ask your Cocoa Beach fishing boat Captain how large of a cooler you will need to carry your fish home in.

A sports bag to carry all your personal fishing gear

A sports bag is a good idea to bring for carrying your rain gear, hat, glasses etc and other personal items that you need on a Cocoa Beach flats fishing trip.

Bring chicken, subs, and sandwiches or whatever you want to eat. Bring your drinks - Ask the Captain if he allows beer.

Bring all your food and drinks.

Foul weather gear - Optional

If you will be fishing in foul or rainy weather then you may want to bring some gear to keep you dry. Not as important on boats with covers and cabins but on inshore boats you may not have the luxury of a cabin.

Bring polarized sun glasses to block the suns glare

Bring sun glasses. Preferrably polarized fishing glasses to lessen the sun's glare that reflects up off the water. Plus polarized glaases help you see the fish better in on the flats.

A camera or video camera for pictures

Bring a camera to take snapshots of those big redish you catch or video of the beautiful inshore waters of Florida and the Cocoa Beach fishing area.

Fishing hats to block sun burn

A hat or ball cap is a good idea, especially for you guys that are getting a bit thin on top. Protect your head from the sun's burning rays.

If you get seasick then motion sickness pills would be a very good idea

If you get sea sick or aren't sure if you get sea sick then it is a very wise idea to take your Dramamine before you leave the dock. Nothing can ruin a fishing trip worse than a guy named "RALPH".

Sun screen so you won't burn

The Cocoa Beach region and middle Florida Space Coast region can get very hot during the summer. Make sure you bring sunscreen, especially if you burn. If you have sunburn then you can't enjoy your light tackle or inshore flats fishing trip to Titusville or Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Bring cash to tip the boat's mate - TIP HIM WELL!

You probably already paid for the trip but you should make sure you have some cash in pocket so you can tip your guide if you feel your trip was worth it. Charter boat Captains and guides operate on shoe string budgets, especially with gas prices nowadays plus it is not easy work so it is very common to give your guide or Captain a tip if you feel like they went above and beyond to satisfy you.
