Indian River Lagoon Fishing
Most Cocoa Beach fishing guides fish in what is called the Indian River Lagoon. The Indian River Lagoon is actually a body of saltwater that is part of the intra-coastal waterway that stretches from south Florida up to Maine. The Indian River Lagoon covers quite a bit more area than just the Cocoa Beach area. The Lagoon also reaches north to the Titusville fishing grounds and south to Vero Beach fishing grounds including the Sebastian Inlet area.
The Cocoa Beach guides and other fishing guides of the Indian River Lagoon fish in as little as 12 inches of water at times and actually have the boats that can safely venture into these shallow fishing grounds. Sometimes this is where the biggest fish of the day may hide out.
